Bird watchers are well catered for with the largest sea bird colony in the country at Bempton, the bird rescue at Spurn Point where many migratory birds stop off and the largest freshwater lake at Hornsea Mere.
For the golfer there are championship golf courses to whet the appetite. Other areas of interest include the spectacular Humber Bridge, the ocean discovery of The Deep in Hull and Fort Paull, a military Napolionic Fort with a labyrinth of tunnels.
Burnby Hall is home to the largest collection of Water Lilies in Europe.
Cruckley Farm is home to a large collection of rare breeds of animals which are kept in a working farm environment.
